“Friends, Friends, 123….All My Friends Are Here with Me”!
The following is a song that little Zia likes singing in day care. Today I thought I would highlight it in regard to all of the people who have helped me and my family in this time of need. I have been blessed with friends who have been there to help financially and emotionally.
First, thanks to all of you who have sent us cards and texts. Communication has been tough due to my fatigue and literally my inability to talk. Getting a card or text means so much because it means that in your busy lives you took the time to check how we are doing. It may not seem like much, but it gives us pause to remember that you care.
For those who have given us gifts, again thanks for your generosity. Sometimes you have no idea what you need until it is given. Food gift cards, comfortable clothes, stuffed animals, games, books to read, and music to listen to make things easier for all of us in my family.
Finally, for those who visited or gave us your time, transporting us to “all the places we will go” helps us connect back to the real world in ways you don’t truly understand. Live interaction and conversation means so much that you would want to spend your time with us even when (sadly) my body cannot give you all the time and thanks you so richly deserve.
Time is a precious gift that I (and my family) have come to cherish, and we thank you again,
Take care, be well, and Excelsior!
Kevin
